post Dionem interfectum, tyrannidem Syracusarum invasit; ita ut ille Acradinam et Neapolim teneret; Dionysius Ins. Syracusas quoque, Timoleonte Leptinen, qui Eugyum. tyrannide oppressum tenebat, ex urbe expellere conante, aliquandiu oppugnavit: sed mox re infectâ Leontinos, unde eruptionem fecerat, rediit. Idem conatus est Timoleontem, subornatis duobus sicariis et percussoribus dolo intersicere, sed cum hi Adranum, ubi erat Timoleon, venissent, eumque sacrificantem offendissent: alter eorum forte ibidem quendam conspieatus, qui Patrem ipsius interfecerat, omisso Timoleonte, ad quem interficiendum venerat, Patris sui inter fectorem percussit: quo facto ensem tenens confestim se in altam quandam rupem saltu corripuit: alter vero aram tangens a timoleonte facti veniam petivit, pollicitus se ei omnia patefacturum. Ita miro quodam casu Timoleon servatus: Icetas tandem a timoleonte superatus et occisus est. An. 2. Olymp. 110.
